Colobus Conservation Trust is a non-profit-making-organization, a research base, information centre, primate rescue facility and a home for Colobus. It is an ideal site for ecological and behavioral studies or just come and watch, adopt, etc. Other Primates you will likely to see are the Vervet Monkeys, Sykes, Baboons, as they pass through on their way to daily activities in search of food.
Kinondo Sacred forest, known as “SACRED MIJIKENDA KAYA FOREST” on arrival, you will be introduced to the forest with a short brief of the forest and culture, a warm welcome the forest walk that takes about 1 hour, accompanied with your guide who understands the sacred forest and its indigenous trees which is still used to treat different kinds of sickness and its “secrets”
Digo are a Mijikenda community, who traditionally lived between Mombasa and the Kenyan Tanzanian border. They speak the Chidigo language. The Mijikenda are a Coastal Bantu community. They inhabit the region from the Tanzania border to the Sabaki and the Umba rivers.
